A VR Simulation Adventure
Time Machine VR is a virtual reality time travelling adventure where the player is tasked with exploring the Jurassic era and the creatures that once ruled the prehistoric oceans.
Role and Responsibilities
I managed alone this small project to update the existing Time Machine VR game for a D-Box experience.
Game & Level Design
-
I adapted the current gameplay of 3 levels to the arcade genre and simplified the narrative game flow through the use of blueprint scripting. My mandate was to condense 2hrs of gameplay into a 30 mins experience.
-
I implemented the localization of the game in 4 Asian languages.
-
I worked in collaboration with our Writer to adapt the previous script and create 50 new dialogue lines.
-
I added 3 new reactive feedbacks to enhance the d-box experience.
-
I conducted 15 playtests to gather feedback and improve the final experience.

A VR Narrative Puzzle Adventure
The Other Room is a virtual reality "escape the room" narrative puzzle game where the player must escape a series of tests imposed by a young A.I.
Role and Responsibilities
I joined this project when it was half-way through production, so the narrative and core mechanics where already established. I took over the design of the "Living Room" & "Operation Room" levels, streamlining the layout and puzzles for virtual reality while also making sure the progression was in accordance with other level designers' work.

Level Design
-
I designed 6 virtual reality game levels according to the narrative scope and genre constraints.
-
I designed 18 time-based logic puzzles (3 per level) using the available mechanics:
-
Navigation Puzzle (Point Teleport)
-
Math Puzzle (Balance & Weights)
-
Logic Puzzle (Light Switches)
-
Cryptic Puzzle (Paintings and Sundial)
-
-
I coordinated with other level designers to ensure gameplay continuity and progression of difficulty.
-
I took charge of performance tests and tracking and informed the team of my findings so we could bring up the framerate to acceptable virtual reality standards.

Role and Responsibilities
This is the first project I worked on as a Game Designer. I was responsible for the level design of half of the game. The main challenges I faced were to adapt the platforming puzzle genre to a confortable and intuitive virtual reality setting.
Level Design
-
I designed the layout and implemented the greybox of 15 different levels.
-
I designed 30 platforming puzzles using the following 4 game mechanics:
-
Jump
-
Push/Pull
-
Look At (VR Specific)
-
Ledge Grab
-
-
In all levels, I optimized camera angles for a virtual reality experience.
-
I ensured the overall consistent progression between each levels, narrative segments, and the game as a whole.
